FAQ'S
Welcome to Imam Ahmmad Bin Hambal Islamic Center.
Imam Ahmmad Bin Hambal Islamic Center is a vibrant and inclusive Islamic educational institution dedicated to fostering spiritual growth, academic excellence, and community development.
What do we do?
At the Center, we are committed to uplifting the poorest and most vulnerable communities in Nepal. Our mission is to ensure that individuals gain access to essential rights such as food, shelter, healthcare, education, and dignity. We focus on supporting those in greatest need, including widows, orphans, the homeless, the disabled, and refugees. Our initiatives are designed to create sustainable, long-term impact, with key efforts spanning education, construction, poverty alleviation, humanitarian relief, and water and sanitation programs.
Through these comprehensive programs, we are dedicated to fostering lasting, positive change across Nepal, addressing both urgent needs and long-term growth to empower individuals and strengthen communities.
Where does the Center work?
Since our inception in 2000, we have supported projects all over the country, making a real, long-term difference. Wherever we work, we collaborate closely with local people and partner organizations to address the root causes of poverty rather than just alleviating its symptoms.
What makes the Center different?
We see poverty as an injustice, and we work with communities over many years to strengthen their efforts to overcome it. Our long-term grassroots development approach, focus on education and healthcare, and innovative ways of working make us unique. We prioritize collaboration with local organizations and communities to ensure sustainable impact, without affiliations to any political or religious groups.
Where do our funds come from?
All our funds come from private individuals, businesses, mosques, and organizations. We do not accept any government funding, allowing us to work independently.
Is the Center a political organization?
The Center is not affiliated with any political or religious groups, but we are committed to challenging injustice wherever we find it. We work to ensure governments and international institutions address the real causes of poverty, advocating for the rights of marginalized and poor communities.
How much does the Center spend on administration?
Accountability to the people we serve and to our donors is central to our work. In 2023, for every NPR 1 donated, we spent NPR 1.18 directly on helping the poor, thanks to unpaid volunteers and cost-efficient operations. We maintain strict monitoring to ensure funds are spent effectively.
How does child sponsorship work?
Sponsoring a child with the Center means your donations directly support projects in the child’s community. This fosters a personal connection with the sponsored child while ensuring the contributions make a lasting impact on their environment. We also use sponsorship funds flexibly to reach those in greatest need, including migrant workers and orphans.
